Description
The beaches here aren’t wild and huge – a thin line of shingle, marrams and then the expansive saltmarsh form a weakening boundary and beyond them the low rising glacial moraines. Millions of tonnes of gravel are scooped and shifted – scraped up from the beds of the old Doggerland rivers, then deposited here. It is a thin front line, where both the rising sea and the past assault us.
